1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Dreamlight High School (“Dreamlight”, “we”, “us”), a not-for-profit virtual school located at 1655 E. Semoran Blvd, Suite 28, Apopka, Florida 32703. By visiting this website, submitting an application, making a payment or using the student portal and learning platforms, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. Enrolled students and families are also bound by the Student Handbook and the school policies published on our Policies & Handbooks page; where they are more specific, those documents prevail.

2. Eligibility, minors and parental responsibility

Our programs are open to students entering grades 6 through 12 and to adults aged 16 and older who have not completed high school. If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the application, accept these Terms on the student’s behalf, and remains responsible for the student’s use of our services and for all fees. By applying for a minor, you confirm that you have the legal authority to do so. Instruction is delivered in English; applicants must be able to learn in English.

3. Accounts and the student portal

Enrolled students receive school-issued accounts for the student portal and learning platforms. You agree to keep your credentials confidential, not to share your account, and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. Accounts are personal; work submitted from an account is treated as the work of the student who owns it. We may suspend an account to protect the security of our systems or to enforce these Terms.

4. Admission, enrollment and academic decisions

Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. Admission, placement, evaluation of transfer credits, plans of study, grades, promotion and the award of the diploma are academic decisions made by Dreamlight in accordance with its policies. You agree to provide true and complete information; false or incomplete statements may result in denial of admission, dismissal or the withholding of records and diplomas. Dreamlight may request original documents to verify identity, guardianship or prior education.

5. Fees, payments and refunds

  • Application fee. A $50.00 application fee is charged when you submit an application. It covers the review of your file and is non-refundable, including if admission is denied or the application is withdrawn.
  • Tuition. Tuition and other fees are published on our Tuition & Payment Plans page and in your enrollment confirmation. They are due according to the payment plan you select. Monthly plans remain payable in full even if the student completes the program early.
  • Cancellation and refunds. A student may cancel the program within three (3) business days of enrollment and receive a refund of tuition paid, issued within 30 days. After that period, tuition is refundable only as described in the withdrawal and refund policy.
  • Payment processing. Online payments are processed by an independent payment processor. We do not store card details. You authorize the amounts you select and agree to keep your billing information current.
  • Late payments and chargebacks. Access to courses, transcripts and the diploma may be suspended while fees are overdue. Please contact the finance office before disputing a charge with your bank; unjustified chargebacks may result in suspension and recovery costs.
  • Other fees. Transcripts, letters of recommendation and diploma replacements are subject to the fees published on the tuition page.

6. Academic integrity and student conduct

Students agree to do their own work, to complete assessments without unauthorized help or materials, to comply with proctoring instructions, and not to share exam content. Plagiarism, cheating, impersonation and falsification of records are violations of the Student Handbook and may lead to a failing grade, suspension or dismissal. On all school platforms, students and families agree to communicate respectfully and not to post content that is unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, obscene or that infringes the rights of others.

7. Acceptable use of our website and platforms

You agree not to: attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorized to use; interfere with the security or operation of the site, forms or platforms; submit malicious code, spam or fraudulent applications or payments; scrape or copy the site in bulk; or use our services for any purpose other than applying to, enrolling in or studying with Dreamlight.

8. Content and intellectual property

The website, its design, text, images, logo and name, and all course materials, lessons, assessments and recordings provided to students are owned by Dreamlight or its licensors, including third-party curriculum publishers, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Enrolled students receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use course materials for their own studies while enrolled. You may not copy, share, sell, publish or distribute course materials or assessments. Work created by students remains their own, and students grant Dreamlight a license to use it for grading, record-keeping and, with consent, for school communications.

9. Third-party services

Our services rely on third parties, including Google Workspace for Education and Google Classroom, our payment processor, proctoring services and, for dual enrollment, partner universities. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. Links to external websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. Communications

By providing your contact details, you agree that Dreamlight may contact you by e-mail, phone or text message about your application, enrollment, progress, payments and school announcements. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time; transactional messages about your enrollment will continue while you are a student.

11. Disclaimers

We work to keep the website and platforms available and accurate, but they are provided “as is” and “as available”. Course schedules, tuition, policies and program details may change; the current versions are those published on this website and in your enrollment documents. Dreamlight does not guarantee admission to any college, transfer of credits to another institution, or any particular academic or employment outcome; those decisions belong to the receiving institution or employer.

12. Limitation of liability and indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dreamlight and its staff will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the website or services, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid to Dreamlight in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You agree to indemnify Dreamlight against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of our services.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the website or platforms for a violation of these Terms, the Student Handbook or school policies, for non-payment, or to protect other students and our systems. Withdrawal from the school is governed by the withdrawal and refund policy. Sections 5, 8, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules. We encourage you to contact the school administration first to resolve any concern. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; the effective date at the top shows the current version, and material changes affecting enrolled families will be announced by e-mail. Questions about these Terms:
